Jayden Lee

AMD 2026 Fall – 2027 Spring

Hailing from the illustrious suburbs of Northern Virginia, Jayden Hunter Lee ‘29 is a sophomore in Leverett studying flute with Paula Robison in the Harvard-NEC dual-degree program. He has previously studied with Aaron Goldman, as a National Symphony Orchestra Youth Fellow, and Beth Bentley.

Jayden was a 2024 National YoungArts Winner in both classical music and creative nonfiction—and, for three consecutive years, first chair in the state. He cut his conducting teeth in high school as drum major of the marching band before continuing his studies under James Ross over two summers with the National Youth Orchestra of the United States, touring South America and Asia as a rotating principal. Jayden’s second summer with the orchestra proved transformative: working with Gianandrea Noseda, the guest conductor, inspired him to pursue conducting seriously.

When he’s not spending time with HRO’s President Emerita, Jayden enjoys reading, debating, nursing his half-serious sommelier dream, Calvin and Hobbes, Casablanca (1942), and adding to his collection of pocket Constitutions. He’d like to thank his parents for pretending this all sounds impressive and his friends for their continued public association.
